Emotional intelligence is the ability to develop emotional resilience and emotional regulation skills that balance emotions and lead to a long-term satisfying life. According to ‘John Mayer’ and ‘Peter Salovey’, emotional intelligence is the ability to control one’s own and others’ emotions, regulate them, and use emotions to guide thoughts and actions. The 5 aspects of emotional intelligence are as follows: self-awareness, emotion-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills.
